A New Beginning

In the past few months, I have been trying to read the Ensign and the scriptures daily. There are so many blessing we receive by daily studying the Words of our Heavenly Father, His Prophets and Apostles.

So, to keep myself motivated to continually read and study, I thought I would start a blog and each day post a comment or quote. I hope that you enjoy reading what I post and I look forward to your comments.

Today's quote:
"Whatever our challenges in life may be, our burdens may become light if we not only believe in Christ but also in his ability and His power to cleanse and console our lives. Our lives are healed as we accept his peace" -President Dieter F. Uchtdorf, July 2008 Ensign

"For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of sound mind. Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord." -Timothy 1:7-8

Hi Jeri, I have been having some challenging issues with family up here in Ohio, these quotes that I woke up to find on my computer, are just EXACTLY what I needed to read and ponder on this morning.

Thank you sooooo much! You are truly my angel today!

Ohio has been beautiful, only hot and humid for a week. I live in the country but minutes away from the city, my favorite idea of living. I see baby rabbits in my yard, squirrels, exotic birds, lots of wildlife.

We have a private pool so I swim for sixty minutes a day and it is helping this body get in shape. Also walking twice a day - committed daily exercise is on my lifestyle change agenda. Remember the days when exercise was just something we did not by appointment?

I miss the Pioneer Ward and all of you.

Hope to see you soon.

Love to you,

That is so funny you used that quote b/c I've been reading a book called the Peacegiver, and when I read that quote last week by President Uchtdorf it really resonated with me. This quote sums up a part of the atonement I never think about--the consoling part--and that is really what the book delves into.
